On the afternoon of December 27, 2011, the Founding Meeting and Opening Ceremony of China Building Material Test and Certification Corporation was held in the large banquet hall on the first floor of BeiJin Shangri-La restaurant, which was in an atmosphere of liveliness and joy.

Wei Chuanzhong, Vice-Minister of State Administration for Quality Supervision and Inspection and Quarantine(AQSIQ), Gan Yong, Assistant Dean of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), Luo Han, Chairman of the Supervisory Board for Key Large State-Owned Enterprises, Guo Jianxin, Deputy Secretary General of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, Zhang Renwei, Honorary President of China Building Materials Association, Song Zhiping, Chairman of CNBM, Jiang Junlu, Outside Director of CNBM, Liu Zhuohui, Chief Engineer of AQSIQ, Xie Jun, Vice Chairman of the State Certification, Approval and Supervision Administrative Commission, Sun Xiangyuan, Secretary of Party Committee of China Building Materials Association, Gu Zhenan, Academician of CAE etc. attended the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was convened by Yao Yan, General Manager of CNBM, Dean of China Building Materials Academy and President of China Building Material Test and Certification Corporation.

As the womb of the test and certification field for China’s building material industry, China Building Materials Academy has, with more than fifty years’ hard work, developed certification and test business for building material industry from nothing and made contribution to the healthy development of this industry. To meet the challenges from WTO in 2005, the Academy integrated its resources on test and certification of the industry from some twenty counties and established China Building Material Test & Certification Center (CTC) (predecessor of China Building Material Test and Certification Corporation) with the support from state ministries and commissions and CNBM. For the last six years, CTC has forged ahead with determination and strived for development, and adhering to the core principle of “justness oriented society served” and established in the building material and building engineering field, it has provided customers with high-tech services including inspection, certification, research and development of testing instruments and equipments, standard setting, technical research and evaluation and training as well as quality service for major projects such as Beijing-Shanghai express railway, Three Gorges Project, Olympic Venues and South to North Water Diversion Project, etc. and has been thought highly by relevant government departments. For the last six years, CTC has obtained uplifting achievements, realized great-leap-forward development and become the largest, national, comprehensive and independent third party test and certification service agency in China building material field, which promotes quality and technical level of building material products, increases market competition ability and makes great contribution to national economic construction.

To make the test and certification industry bigger and stronger, to improve international competitiveness, to better participate in international market competition and to fulfill the social responsibility as a central enterprise, China Building Materials Academy integrated its own resources on test and certification and united with its strategic partners to co-found China Building Material Test and Certification Corporation with the support of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) and AQSIQ and other ministries and commissions and under the direct instruction of CNBM. The Corporation will devote itself to a development road of specialization, scale and internationalization, emphasize on green, low carbon, energy saving and environmental protection, perform the bounden duty of “making a better life for human being”, strive to become a world class test and certification agency with international competitiveness and fame with the service idea of “scientific, just and accurate”, work hard to be the first listed company in China that integrates test and certification and make greater contribution to the sustainable development and advance of science and technology of the industry.
