On August 28 to 30, 2012, Dr. Mohammed Mursi, Egypt's first freely elected, civilian president, paid a three-day visit to China. In order to coordinate with President Mursi's visiting to China, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (the CCPIT) held series of commercial activities with Egyptian Embassy in China. Upon invitation, leaders of China National Building Materials Group Corporation (CNBM) attended the dinner party to welcome the Egyptian delegation, Sino-Egypt Industrial Development Forum and Sino-Egypt Business Forum. Yao Yan, general manager of CNBM, was graciously received by President Mursi when attending the Sino-Egypt Business Forum.

Mursi was sworn in as the president of Egypt on June 30, 2012. This was the first visit of Mursi to the country outside the Middle East since he had assumed office and China became the first non-Arabian country he visited since he had served as the president. It can be seen that he hopes to deepen the cooperation between China and Egypt in economy and trade and enlarge the political and economic exchanges of the two countries.

During the meeting, Yao Yan briefly introduced the basic information of the fiberglass production line Phase I with annual output of 80,000t and investment scale up to USD 250 million, invested and constructed by Jushi Group under CNBM. President Mursi expressed his sincere thanks and high praise to Yao Yan for this and hoped that the Chinese enterprises would go to Egypt to enlarge cooperation and deepen exchanges driven by the existing Chinese investment by taking this opportunity.
