On September 27, the Huainan 50,000,000m²/y high-grade gypsum board line of Beijing New Building Materials (Group) Co., Ltd. (BNBM), a subsidiary of CNBM listed on the A-share market, went into trial production. Concurrent was the release ceremony of the world’s largest gypsum board industry group.

With a forming speed of over 100 meters per minute, Huainan gypsum board line was the largest and most advanced of its kind with independent intellectual property right in the country (including foreign-invested manufacturers among Fortune Global 500 Companies). After the line went into trial production, CNBM has possessed 54 wholly-owned and controlled large gypsum lines, with a total scale of 1.65 billion square meters, 1.5 billion ahead of Saint-Gobain, one of the Fortune Global 500 Companies, thus jumping as the world’s largest gypsum board industry group and presenting a gift to the Party’s Eighteenth Congress and National Day.

As China’s leading gypsum board enterprise, after being listed among “Famous Chinese Brands” and “Famous Chinese Trademarks”, BNBM and “Dragon” have claimed a host of top industrial honors, including “National Award for Best Building Decoration Materials” and “China’s Top Ten Building Material Brands Pioneering Green Consumption”, defended the title of “Gypsum Company of the Year” awarded by Global Gypsum Conference, and ranked among “China’s 500 Most Valuable Brands” released by the World Brand Lab for three consecutive times, with its brand value soaring from 7.633 billion yuan (95th place) in 2009 to 16.892 billion yuan (83rd) in 2012. BNBM’s “Dragon” is one of the few Chinese high-end independent brands that have outperformed their peers among Fortune Global 500 Companies in terms of technology, quality and price. BNBM’s “Dragon” gypsum board series has been used in the vast majority of landmarks and key projects in the country, including the Olympic Games and the World Expo.

From two lines in Beijing with an annual total output of 45 million square meters to 54 lines with an annual total output of 1.65 billion square meters throughout the country, from a speed of 40 meters per minute to a speed of 100 meters per minute, CNBM has developed from China’s third largest into the world’s largest gypsum board industry group. From China manufacturing to China creation, from Chinese products to Chinese brands, BNBM is demonstrating the strength of Chinese brands and China’s technical innovation to the world.
