On October 29, the 4th World Industrial & Commercial Organizations Forum (WICO Forum 2013) took place at China National Convention Center in Beijing, bringing together over 300 guests from more than 30 countries and regions, including heads and experts of industrial associations and presidents of multinationals for development exchange. Wu Hongbo, under-secretary-general of the United Nations, sent a letter of congratulations. Gu Xiulian, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the 10th National People's Congress and honorary chairwoman of the China Federation of Industrial Economics (CFIE) addressed the forum. Li Yizhong, member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee, vice chairman of the Committee for Economic Affairs of the CPPCC National Committee and chairman of CFIE, delivered a keynote speech. Song Zhiping, chairman of China National Building Materials Group Corporation (CNBM), was present and delivered a speech entitled "Enterprises' New Opportunity and Choice in the Context of China's Economic Upgrading".
